Dilution Ratios

Image
Here I am on this earth into my 7th decade, never loved math and seriously never wanted to spend much time figuring it out. I was miffed when in college I needed to take a pre-algebra class since I had not made it through algebra 101...e-rrrr. So why on earth do I care about dilution ratios? Well the reality is I only care when I am trying to solve a problem that I have come across in MY life- not a book full of mysterious equations that I simply do not know how I could use.  Fast-forward to real life...I like to make many of my own simple products rather than buy a store bought version with crazy additives, unnecessary added dollars and extra packaging I will be adding to our already burgeoning (and not in a good way) landfills.  I frequently mix up Hummingbird Nectar for our feeders and a problem arose. I could simply follow the directions...1 cup sugar to 4 cups water but then I am left with more nectar than my feeder can hold. Consequently I now have to store the sugar wat...

QR Codes and Home Storage Solutions

Image
I am so excited! After creating and using QR codes for many things from business catalog links to flipbooks I finally decided to order some pre printed Totescan QR code stickers from Amazon. This product comes 45 unique codes to a set and has an app to make all the work of documenting those storage containers a breeze... at least that is my hope. I have been thinking about organizing my attic storage using QR code identifiers for quite some time but I end up moving on to another pressing project all because I dislike creating the database to keep the information all together. Totescan has a solution with an app, easy to order stickers and even the ability to print my own stickers at home if I prefer. So I jumped in and ordered my stickers with a promise from Amazon to deliver today! Today...WOW! Knocking down barriers to my procrastination over database via the app and today delivery from Amazon...perfect! Now on to Youtube to watch the how-to video !

How I Made My First Flipbook

I made my first Flipbook this week, YEA!! I used a website called Publuu.com. The site allowed me to create my 12 page book for free online. Here were the basic steps I took: Scan each of the pages I wanted as part of my book. (TIP: if you have any photos, links, phone numbers, email addresses, music, QR Codes etc that you would like to be a part of this flipbook, have those at your fingertips as well). Put your basic pages in order and save them as a pdf. I started out using a word document and put the images that made up my pages in order within the document, then saved it as a pdf and exported it from word. (You could choose to save it as a word document as well in the event you wanted to edit it later.) Go to Publuu.com and create a free account.  Upload your pdf and personalize things like background color, additional items like hot links, images, music etc. Here was my finished flipbook using an Isagenix New Products color brochure.  I also tried creating a fli...

Creating Digital Notebook Templates in Keynote

Image
Creating Digital Notebook Templates in Keynote I've been focused recently on getting more digitally organized and found this interesting video teaching how to create templates and I wanted to remember and add to my own experience. I am a constant learner and always find benefit and application from one topic to another so although this video is for teachers I found this information very helpful for transposing this same information to speed up creating business presentations, making other various notebooks like cookbooks and more. It came from a youtube channel LPC DIGITAL LEARNING.
